¶ Profile-based Parental Control (A Customer Success Story)

Through the usage of Vizzi’s API is possible to develop a multitude of end-user frontends with a rich feature set.
Today we will show you one of those resources that are very useful in content platforms for the whole family and that we could not expect to be different from being super successful.
Our client needed to adapt its white label frontend so that its end users would have the autonomy to manage access to the contents of their dependent accounts. With this, the parent user must be able to add, edit, and delete accounts, indicating the age classification of the contents for each dependent user and define whether access to them will be made with or without the obligation to enter a password, thus guaranteeing that underage users see only content appropriate to them.
¶ Let’s see how it was implemented
First, the primary user needs to log in to the platform by entering the email and password and clicking the Login button at the bottom of the form:
After that, the screen below will appear to select a profile or to add a new one by clicking the Add button. Choosing the existing profile to access the platform, we will then access the user settings by clicking on the Profile button in the top right corner and then on User Settings:
In the User Settings section, the user will click on the Add Profile button and fill in the opened form with the name and maturity level of the new account. In addition, he can define whether a PIN code will be required to enter this new profile by clicking on the Active option and typing the code in the field below:
As an example, we added two new profiles. One for Anne, with content for up to 16 years and for which we set a PIN, and another for Cris, who will only watch videos for up to 10 years, not having to enter a PIN:

With all profiles created, it is now possible to switch between them. To do so, just click on the Profile button, then on Change Profile, and choose the profile to be accessed:
When switching to Anne’s profile, the screen below will appear to enter the mandatory PIN:
After that, the content will vary according to the Maturity Rating set for each user:
