¶ Configuring Products
Tip: a valid URL starts with http:// or https://
- Click the “Products” tab in the navigation menu (left of the screen);
- In the content toolbar click the “Create” button (top right corner of the screen) to create a new product;
- In the “GENERAL” tab fill in the required information (Name and Type);
- Name: for each configured language, enter the product name;
- Description: for each configured language, enter the product description;
- Type: represents the way a Product shall be made available;
- Subscription: content is made available on a subscription basis and will be available only to subscribing customers. Usually associated with a recurring payment plan;
- Transaction: content is made available on a pay-per-view basis and will be available only to customers that purchased it. Usually associated with a single payment;
- Free: content is made available freely to users that have access to it.
- Ad free: toggle advertising display on/off for the Product being created.
- Feed Syndication: by activating this option, a feed of the contents linked to the current product is made available for third-party platforms to consume.
Below is an example of a Roku Direct Publisher feed whose available link has the following syntax:
https://hostname/api/reasoner/feed/roku?products=[“product_ID”]
In the URL, replace the highlighted data with the following information:
- Hostname: enter the hostname of your Vizzi instance;
- Product_ID: enter the ID of the product whose content is to be included in the feed. The ID can be consulted using the product edit view.
- [OPTIONAL] In the “THUMBNAILS” tab add images to serve as displayable thumbnails for the product;
- Paste the URL of an image in the “Default thumbnail” field;
- Click the "ADD" button to add additional thumbnails.
- URL: enter the URL for the new thumbnail;
- MAKE DEFAULT: click to mark the new image as default;
- If you want to delete a thumbnail, click REMOVE (to the right of the "URL" field).
- [OPTIONAL] In the “POSTERS” tab add images to serve as the displayable posters for the product;
- Follow the same procedure described above for thumbnails (step 4.)
- In the “CONTENT” tab, click the “Content” field and select the collections that will be part of the product being created;
- [OPTIONAL] In the “AUDIENCES” tab, click the “Target audiences” field and select previously created Audiences that should have access to the product;
- Click "SAVE AND SHOW" to save and go to the preview of the created item, or "SAVE AND ADD" to save and continue adding more items.
