¶ Adding SDI/HDMI/IP Channels

- In the Navigation menu (left of the screen) click the “INPUT/OUTPUT” module and then on “SDI/HDMI/IP";
- In the options list area (lower-left corner) click the “Add”
button to configure the input channel and fill in the form with the information below:
- Name: enter the channel name;
- Capture type: click to choose the type of capture from the available options;
- Capture instance: select the capture instance for each input from the available options. The capture instances available here are those configured in the sCapture service in the control panel. If one of them is unavailable, an offline message will be displayed on the right and will not be available for selection;
- Custom mnemonic name: assign a custom mnemonic name to be selected in the Player widget when performing a recording;
- Frame cache (in seconds): configure how many seconds does a frame stay in cache;
- Pre/Post-Roll (in seconds): set the number of seconds that will elapse, before and after pressing the start and stop recording buttons, when a video is being recorded. Both values cannot be more than the number of frame cache seconds;
- Timecode: click to select the timecode source, among the available options (e.g. Time of Day);
Capture card: click to choose which of the available capture cards will be used.
Please notice that Matrox and Dante cards have specific configurations. For detailed instructions, please refer to the Matrox Card and Dante Card sections;
- Audio source: click to choose the audio source, among the available options (e.g. Embedded);
- Auto-detect input signal: with this option checked, the video characteristics of that channel will be detected automatically. When deselecting, it will be possible to manually determine its characteristics, as shown in the image below:
- Drop frame: click to select if drop frame is enabled or disabled for this video source. Auto-detect option is also available;
- Aspect ratio: click to select the video input aspect ratio;
- Input signal: click to select the source for the signal, among the available options;
- Resolution1: click to select the resolution, frame rate, and scanning of the input video, among the available options;
- SDI color precision1: click to select the color precision of the input video, among the available options;
- Audio channel count: click to select the number of audio channels on the input video, among the available options.

- In the action toolbar (bottom right corner) click the “SAVE” button to save the settings.
¶ Matrox Card
When utilizing a Matrox card, you’ll encounter intuitive options for configuring NMOS (Networked Media Open Specifications) to enhance network integration and SMPTE-2059 (PTP - Precision Time Protocol) to ensure precise timing synchronization, as shown below.
NMOS enabled: when this option is enabled, the system automatically detects video formats, audio settings, and IP addresses using NMOS. To configure these settings manually, leave this option unchecked and fill in the newly opened fields for video, audio, and ancillary (ANC) IPs, along with their corresponding ports:
SMPTE-2059 (PTP): by selecting the Use default settings option, the system will automatically configure the card's PTP settings. However, to manually adjust these settings, leave this option unchecked. This will enable additional fields for configuring the PTP connection manually. Below is a description of the key parameters you can set:
- PTP mode: choose between the following options to determine the communication method for PTP messages:
- Multicast: PTP messages are sent to a multicast address, typically used in larger networks;
- Unicast: PTP messages are sent directly to specific devices, suitable for point-to-point setups;
- Hybrid: a combination of multicast and unicast communication.
- Delay mechanism: select the delay measurement method for the network:
- E2E (End-to-End): measures the network delay between master and slave clocks across all network segments;
- P2P (Peer-to-Peer): measures the delay between adjacent network devices, offering more precise timing in complex networks.
- DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point): set a value between 0 - 63 for PTP traffic prioritization;
- Multicast join: specify how the device handles multicast PTP messages:
- IGMP v2: internet Group Management Protocol version 2, commonly used for basic multicast;
- IGMP v3: offers more advanced multicast management, including source-specific multicast;
- None: disables multicast join, which may be used in unicast or hybrid configurations.
- Master clock domain: choose a domain number (0 - 127) to match the PTP timing domain;
- Announce receipt timeout: set the timeout (2 - 10 intervals) for master clock loss detection;
- DHCP enabled: enable or disable Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) for automatic IP address assignment. If disabled, the following fields must be filled in manually:
- SMPTE-2059 IP: enter the IP address for the device's PTP network interface;
- Gateway: specify the network gateway IP address for routing PTP traffic;
- Netmask: set the network subnet mask to define the device's local network segment.

¶ Dante Card
When using Dante cards, the following configuration options will be available.
- Network interface: ensure that you select the same subnet as your Dante device and Device Controller;
- Audio source: click o choose your audio source from the available options (e.g., Embedded);
- Audio frame rate: select your desired audio frame rate from the available options;
- Audio channel count: specify the number of audio channels to be used.
