¶ Gang Capture

The “Gang Capture” widget is used to configure the simultaneous capture of multiple input channels. It features the following parameters:
Note: click and drag a channel up or down to reorder as convenient.
- Colored dot: represents the state of the channels. It uses 3 colors to convey different states:
a. Yellow: no signal;
b. Blue: ready;
c. Red: recording; - Use as reference timecode for gang capture: makes the selected channel’s timecode the reference, for the other gang capture channels;
Note: although it is possible to use Time-of-Day as Reference Timecode, MOG warns that this is not a frame-accurate solution. To get frame accurate gang capture, use VITC, or Audio, or Serial LTC.
- (Toggle button): click to enable/disable the gang capture on the selected channel;
- Stop Recording: click to stop the gang recording and keeps the assets. Pressing the button twice (or pressing the button while a capture is already being stopped) will force-stop the capture, which means the final recording will not present any timecode or timestamp;
a. The force stop action will present the following prompt to confirm such action:
- Start recording: click to start the gang recording;
- Workflow: click to choose the workflow from the previously configured ones. Note that to the right of the workflow options is the “Edit”
button. Click there to quickly edit the output options;
Note: you can hide the “Edit” option in the permissions settings by unchecking the “Workflow Profiles” option. See chapter “Adding Permissions Profile” for more information.
- Abort capture: stops recording and deletes the assets (to activate this option, contact MOG, see chapter “Contacts”).
The abort action will present the following prompt to confirm such action:
¶ Widget Settings
There is also an extra “Settings” window. To access it, in the upper right corner of the widget, click on the “Options” menu and then on “Settings”.
- Capture instances (left column): click on the input channels to choose which ones will be shown in the widget;
Note: being hidden does not mean it is disabled. If a channel was previously allowed to record in a gang, it still behaves the same even if it does not appear in the widget.
- If timecode is invalid does not start capturing: when this option is enabled and if there is a defined reference timecode, all active players will be checked and if any timecode is invalid (00: 00: 00: 00), the capture will not start;
- Lock camera selection and reference timecode: when this option is enabled, you will no longer be able to enable/disable players in the widget as well as change the player defined as a reference for timecode;
- Hide unused capture instance: when this option is enabled, the capture instances that are disabled will no longer appear in the list. Activated capture instances will also be locked;
- Low latency recording: enable or disable the use of time references in stream captures when starting and stopping a recording.
