Production Asset Management (PAM) is vital for any media production workflow. A PAM system allows editors and post-production teams to find, manage, and track media files throughout the creation process, thus providing an optimized organization of all media files for the production workflow.
MAM4PRO can deal with a large number of media assets and handle them on-the-fly, thus allowing for a much easier and faster job for any media production team.
Checking your assets into a collection, for example via an Ingest operation, has a range of benefits:
Let’s see how to take advantage of it:
First, you need to create your PAM collection if you do not already have one. To do this, using the “Asset Browser” widget, click on the “File Input Browser” button:
After that, a pop-up will appear. Click on the “Collection” button and fill in the form to create the collection. See chapter Managing Collections to learn how to add a collection.
Now, create the Ingest workflow. Go the “WORKFLOWS” then “Workflow Profiles” menu. In our example, we used a “Same as Source” Ingest operation:
On the “Asset Management” tab, click the “Add a new MAM output” button, and select “Collection” option as a MAM type and the newly created collection as a location:
After that, go to the Dashboard and choose the asset (or assets) you want to Ingest. In the “Job Control” widget, select the workflow you previously created and click the “Run” button:
If you want to, you can assign this job a Priority Level by clicking on the field “Select Priority”!
It’s done! Check that the asset will appear in your collection:
