Production Asset Management (PAM) systems in production environments must be capable of storing, searching, and finding media files. In addition, this system must also understand the relationships between different projects and the assets shared between them.
MAM4PRO can understand the content and context of a project rather than simply managing the files, thus offering some useful functionality such as archiving and restoring projects, including all associated media, and importing and exporting complete projects to and from external or offline systems. This is because we understand that in many cases, the same media is used across multiple projects, so MAM4PRO needs to be aware of this as well to ensure that links are not broken by media that is moved or deleted while it is still in use.
Additionally, MAM4PRO allows creative teams to work together from anywhere, allowing them to find, manage, track, enhance, and deliver media files throughout the entire production ecosystem.
To present a production environment approach with the asset management system, let’s assume that we will have four users in our environment:
Administrator: profile provided by MOG by default, and which has all system permissions. Will be responsible for managing the system. He has access to all MAM4PRO menus and all created dashboard templates:
Ingester: has access only to the menus and dashboards essential to his role, being able to create, edit, and delete workflows, locations, input and output signals, perform record or ingest operations, create automatic jobs to send media to PAM, preview content as well as archive and restore media or projects. Furthermore, he can create playlists and add and edit markers and asset metadata:
Cataloguer: does not have access to the menus and has access only to dashboards essential to his role, being able to preview content and catalog it by adding and editing markers and asset metadata:
Viewer: does not have access to the menus and has only one dashboard that will allow the visualization of public content:
To create this or another environment in MAM4PRO, first, configure the users and their different permission profiles. To find out how to do this, see the Managing Users and Permissions page.
Note: to be able to select which dashboards will be displayed by each user, it will be necessary to create them giving administrator permissions. Next, log in with that user and add, edit, or delete the relevant dashboards. After that, authenticate again as an administrator and change the permissions to the one that suits the user.
The next step is configuring the dashboards templates that will serve as a work area for the users. Please, refer to the Creating Custom Dashboard Templates page to learn how.
Note: you can choose to create all the dashboards in the admin user, then generate their export file so that it can be imported into each user. The process of exporting and importing dashboards is done through the “Settings > Maintenance” menu in the backup section.
In the scenario shown, we will have users with different functions working together on the projects they are allowed to do from anywhere in the world. And to make things easier, each has an environment focused on their activities.
Benefit from state-of-the-art content and production asset manager with MAM4PRO.
