¶ Markers

The “Markers” widget is responsible for the management of locators during video playout.
Tip: if there is a Player widget configured on the dashboard, you can drag an asset from the “Asset Selection” to the “Markers” to start playing the asset and show its locators and comments.
The “Locators Source” tab informs the user through flags where an event occurred and presents the following components:
- Color dot: shows the locator color. Clicking the dot will allow changing the locator color;
- Locator: shows the locator name. To update this field, just click and write a new name;
- Edit locator with current player timecode: click to move the locator timecode to the currently playing asset’s timecode;
- Timecode: shows the timecode of the locator. Click on it to edit its value manually, using or not colons, and move the locator. For example, 10:00:05:12 and 10000512 are valid values;
- Add locator: click to add a new locator at the current timecode of the video;
- Check all locators: click to select all locators;
- Delete locator: click to delete the selected locator;
- Clear locators: click to eject information from the “Locators Source”, “Comments”, and “Enhanced Metadata” tabs (does not remove information from the database);
- Auto eject from player: click to synchronize the eject action with the player, so when you eject an asset from the player, it will also be removed from the Markers widget.
Notes:
- Adding, editing, and deleting locators while playing a group of assets without Gang Play will update all players and assets in the group;
- If the dashboard has no players, the actions “Edit Locator with current player timecode” and “Seek to locator” will be disabled.
The “Comments” tab presents comments about the asset and shares opinions about it with other users. This tab presents the following components:
- Expand button: click to expand/collapse the replies in a comment;
- Edit comment1: click to edit a comment. To finish editing, without saving changes, click on the
“Cancel Editing” icon; - Edit locator with current player timecode: move the comment timecode to the currently playing asset’s timecode;
- Timecode: shows the timecode of the locator. Click on it to edit its value manually, using or not colons, and move the locator. For example, 10:00:05:12 and 10000512 are valid values;
- Seek to locator: click to play the asset from the comment timecode;
- “Enter text here”: use this text box to enter your comment reply;
- Add comment: click this icon to add a new comment;
- Check all your comments: click this icon to select all comments;
- Delete comment(s): click to delete the selected comment(s);
- Clear locators: click to eject information from the “Locators Source”, “Comments”, and “Enhanced Metadata” tabs (does not remove information from the database);
- Auto eject from player: click to synchronize the eject action with the player, so when you eject an asset from the player, it will also be removed from the Markers widget.

It is possible to edit and delete responses to comments too. To do this, hover over an answer and click on one of the icons below:
Delete Reply1: click to delete the reply;
Edit Reply1: click to edit a reply.

The “Enhanced Metadata” tab shows the metadata collected from the asset when executing an enhancement metadata workflow (chapter “Creating a Metadata Enhancement Workflow”. Easily navigate through the asset by clicking on the displayed markings. This tab has the following components:
- Locator filter: click to select which locators will be shown;
- Category: shows the marker’s category;
- Locator: shows the identified locators and their subcategories. Values vary depending on the type of metadata detected and whether it was run in a single workflow with more than one option in the same category. In this case, the representation of the “Locator” column will be represented in the same row, but in subcategories, like the one represented in the image above in the “Face” category.

Only for assets that support timecode breaks - Timecode: locator start timecode;
- Seek to locator: play asset from the locator timecode;
- Add Locator: adds a new locator at the timecode of the video;
- Check all locators: selects all locators;
- Show bounding boxes: click to show the bounding boxes in the player, if available:
- Delete locator: deletes selected locator;
- Clear locators: click to eject information from the “Locators Source”, “Comments”, and “Enhanced Metadata” tabs (does not remove information from the database);
- Auto eject from player: click to synchronize the eject action with the player, so when you eject an asset from the player, it will also be removed from the Markers widget.
Notes:
When playing an asset that has locators generated by enhancement metadata workflows and placing it on the respective tab of the "Markers" widget, the locators and a filter on the right side will be displayed in the "Player" widget as shown below:
- When there are superimposed locators on the timeline, the icon will be a gradient with the colors of all locators that would be superimposed, and the tool- tip will also show information about all the locators:
- Adding, editing, and deleting locators while playing a group of assets without Gang Play will update all players and assets in the group.
¶ Widget Settings
There is also an extra “Settings” window, to access it, in the upper right corner of the widget, click on the “Options” menu and then on “Settings”.
- Update metadata on XML if it is available: if selected it will add the locators to the metadata XML file if any.
