Revision date: 29/jul/2022
MAM4PRO version: 2022.07.00
An important feature available in the MAM4PRO is the ability to process growing files (media that is not yet closed or complete). This allows us to, among other operations, perform cuts on growing files, create lists of these clips, and play them out even before the file is closed.
First, navigate to the SETUP menu and add storage to where the recording file will be saved:
Then go to the “INPUT/OUTPUT > Files” menu and create a file location pointing to where the files will be recorded. Make sure you check the “Growing source” option so that growing files are detected:
After that, create a recording workflow choosing the previously created location as the file destination:
To perform the operations, we will need three dashboards configured, one for recording, one for making cuts and creating the clip lists, and another for playout. For this, we will use the templates “Crash Record”, “Playout Preparation”, and “Playout Control” respectively.
In the “Player” widget, select the recording workflow we created earlier and click the “Record” button.
In the “Asset Browser” widget, select the location where the media is being recorded and play the file in the “Player” widget:
To make the rough cuts, add a new clip list in the “Playlist Builder” widget, after that, in the “Player” widget, click the “Mark in”, “Mark out”, and “Add to playlist builder” buttons highlighted in the image below:
In the “Playout Control” widget, select and load your previously created playlist. To do this, select the playlist in the “Select a playlist” field and click the “Load playlist” button:
Then, click “Play” to start playing your clips:
